Love in the world of Spirit

June 25th, 2013

No matter how long I’ve been working with Spirit, I am constantly amazed by the daily miraculous occurrences I am lucky enough to be a part of. Just the other day, I was doing a reading and the client wanted mediumship, which was such a relief because there were family members in line, in the room, wanting to speak with her. To my surprise, most of the family members waiting for her were speaking fluent russian and Yiddish. Before I even had time to concern myself over how I would understand them, my main guide, Robin, stepped forward, making her presence felt much more than usual, to the point that I could see her the same as if I were looking at someone here in the physical world. She was wearing a beautiful, baby blue, full-length dress. Her long, chocolate brown hair was flowing back off her neck, as if wind was blowing in front of her, and something that I rarely see, her wings were stretched at full-length, hovering over everyone in Spirit, and myself. because of her strong presence and her blue dress, I knew she was going to serve as a translator. blue is the color that relates to the throat chakra and communication. she then eloquently began speaking fluent Russian and Yiddish to converse with the loved ones in Spirit. there was a grandmother, father, grandfather, uncle, and aunt in spirit. The client was actually on the phone, so I had to explain to the client that the brief pauses were to allow my guide, Robin, to converse with them and then translate to me.
The other reminder that this reading gave me was that it doesn’t matter where someone is from, what their belief system is, or cultural differences that may exist. We all want to know that we are loved and that someone is proud of us. Also, in spirit, family members are always able to connect with the right family, and language barriers do not exist.
one of my other great joys is teaching others how to connect with Spirit, or to gain better understanding and access to one’s own intuition. It is hard, at times, to explain the dedication and devotion, nurturing and cultivation living a spiritual life requires. the more dedication that someone puts in, the stronger the connection will be over time. It is definitely not something that happens overnight. there can be spiritual awakenings that happen, but in order to maintain the level of consciousness that occurs during that awakening, a mutual relationship is required between the person and Spirit, or G-d. For instance, I recently connected with a client, who I had read for a year ago, that was asking about finding new love. During that reading, I got specifics on where and when the client would meet the new love interest. with a huge smile on their face, the client said, “I couldn’t believe it. everything fell into place for me to to go on the weekend trip that you predicted. the ticket was paid for, my hotel room was paid for and 80per cent of my meals were paid for. But at the last minute, I decided to stay home and take care of a business matter with my company.”Then the client asked, “how come I didn’t meet my love as predicted?” I replied, “Two words, honey. Free will! The universe lined up everything for you to have the encounter with the new love interest and you made the conscious choice not to go. that was your free will. G-d will provide another opportunity if it is meant to be,but now you have changed the timetables on the events involving your love life.” So often, clients come back wondering why certain patterns in their life haven’t changed. But, Spirit can only provide guidance and options. It is up to each individual to participate in their life, embracing change to break certain patterns. If you want to make new friends or meet a new love interest, you have to take steps to go to new places and embrace opportunities where meeting new people can occur. the likelihood of those people showing up at your doorstep, is slim to none. It is not uncommon for people to turn to online dating, as an alternative to going out and meeting people, and online dating definitely has its place in our society, but keep in mind, if you are a sensitive person who vibes off energy, it can be hard to do that through a computer screen, and it is my belief that if you are meant to meet your love online, it will happen very quickly. Sometimes, it is a good idea to get off the dating site and return at a different time, when the energy has changed, but once again, if you are supposed to meet the right person online, it will happen and, typically, very fast. I hope you have enjoyed this bird’s eye view of my life with Spirit. Until next time, love, light and blessings, Melissa

Healing for Two

June 12th, 2013

recently, I was at a doctor’s appointment where a building is owned by a whole team of doctors. in one area of the building, they
Have a large treatment area w here patients are receiving blood transfusions, outpatient IV antibiotics and other outpatient treatments. I was waiting to see my doctor, when I looked down the hall and saw a woman waiting in the waiting area. There were three people standing there in spirit. One that looked like her father, a woman about ten years older than her, and a young man between the ages of 13 & 15. I then thought to myself, “I wonder if I should tell her.?” My spirit guide, Robin, appeared and said, ” Stop thinking and just go tell her.” I then called the nurse over, and asked if I could go to the waiting area for a few minutes, and she said, “Sure.” When I got to the waiting room, to my surprise, there were two other patients waiting there, but I bravely continued forward until I was in front of the woman. I then said, “Excuse me, I know how nerve-wracking it can be waiting for these appointments, and I don’ t know if you believe in this or not, but I am able to talk to those who have passed on, and I wanted you to know  that there are three people behind you in spirit  who are giving you support. T he first one looks like it could be your father. then, with tears running down her face, she nodded. “next to him is a woman that looks like she is about ten years older than you. It could be your older sister. She confirmed it and that the young man was her nephew. I told her that they said she would   be fine  and that  her husband was definitely going to be at the next appointment. S he confirmed that he was on a business trip. I also gave her other validating information, like birthdays and how all three had passed She confirmed, hugged me, and s.aid, “My G-d, you are like a little Theresa Caputo.” I said, “thank you, but my name is actuallyMelissa Hevenor.” she asked for my autograph. This experience was amazing and humbling, not only because I was able to convey a beautiful and needed message for Spirit but it was also a pivotal moment In my spiritual journey.   I gratefully announced  my name as someone working In this marvelous.  metaphysical field  in an Environment like a doctor’s office, a place run systematically by data, science and logic. Although I have been receiving messages from Spirit for years, this was a bold step towards publicly acknowledging this vital piece of who I am, and it was one reading amongst several that were  life-changing and healing for me and the woman who received the message.

2013-Bring on the Spring

February 12th, 2013

I cannot believe it’s already the middle of February now. An amazing milestone was reached as my niece turned one year old, and we celebrated with a baby-licious party. Among the guests was a family who are friends of my sister, and niece, Lauren and Michael Fischer and their beautiful son, Isaac. Michael is the executive director of Drops of Hope, an organization that serves children with cancer. Michael provides limousine service transportation to children who are undergoing chemo who might otherwise miss a treatment, or be unable to get the treatment at all. If anyone undergoing chemo misses a treatment during the treatment cycle, the probability for success in treating the cancer is considerably compromised. Therefore, I was so grateful that the Universe brought us together, as Michael and his family are part of the puzzle coming together to team up with the common goal of creating a map that makes for a better world. Thus, I am very excited that this year, we will be doing events together and other creative projects that will be beneficial to us all in an effort to be of more service to the future of today’s youth. As we solidify dates for our first big event, I will keep you posted.
The readings have been streaming in from all over the world, leaving me so humbled and inspired as I watch Spirit come in with beautiful messages of love and healing, and I am lucky enough to serve as a messenger during that process. After being witness to those experiences, I am left with the creative drive to write lyrics for songs. My style is Pop, R & B, ballads and anything in between. I can always hear the type of rhythm that I want my song to have, but I am unable to compose the music. If you or someone you know, is a composer or creates dance beats, please e-mail me at mhevenor@aol.com to see if we can create beautiful music together.
A dear friend of mine, Sandra Barbieri, is an artist, who is collaborating with me to illustrate my children’s book series, as well other artistic, spiritually-based projects. Details on those to come very soon as well. I also keep getting the repeated message in meditation, how important expressing creative energy is during this time, which explains why my creative juices have been in overdrive, and I am lucky enough to work with one of my best friends and manager, Rebecca Ryan, to create other media projects that I will continue to tell you about as they progress. The good news is that the Psychic in Your Pocket video series as well as Psychic in Your Backpack series will be continuing in the next couple of weeks. I know many of you will be happy as I’ve received numerous requests, e-mails and messages to post more videos, so they are on their way.Yeah! I will also be teaching intuitive mediumship and other spiritually-based workshops and classes at The Center of Grace in Miami Beach, starting this month, so please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In , GooglePlus and Chime-In, to stay updated on the little bit I have going on, LOL.
Among all of this, I am smack in the middle of writing my second book, and creating child-friendly spiritual events as well. Often, people ask me how I have the energy to be doing everything but the truth is, working for Spirit gives me endless supply of energy and I have to consciously set in my schedule, time to recharge and rejuvenate, although meditation is a regular practice in my routine. For me, meditation can often involve upbeat music and dancing around, because that makes my spirit happy. With everything taking place, I am so pleased at how 2013 is unfolding, and am excited to swing into spring.

New Year, New Adventure

January 23rd, 2013

I know this is a little late, but Happy New Year to all! With the new energies that have integrated since December 12, 2012, it feels as though time and energy are moving faster, and there is an urgency to get things done, but by the same token, living in the moment and being present is ever more important. I am so excited for this new year. There are so many new projects on the horizon in all forms of media, from music to film and finally, the ongoing project of my children’s series will be in its final form this year. That was one of the longest labors any of my projects have ever had, but I am still confident it was worth the wait. On a personal level, life is moving quickly as well as my angel niece is about to turn a year. I can not believe it’s almost been a year since the beautiful blessing of her birth and with every day, she is turning into a more and more remarkable little lady.

I have always been a firm believer in the power of music. It is very common that, when doing my mediumship work, spirits come through using music as signs and symbols in the messages as well as signs from loved ones who are still here. Music has also been instrumental in many of the therapeutic techniques used when practicing art and music therapy, and with this in mind, other projects are organically taking form. I will be continuing to support Music for Your Heart Foundation, which provides musical instruments and instruction to children who otherwise might not get the exposure or experience. This is a cause close to my heart and I am so excited about all of the events planned for this year. More mediumship students are now receiving private instruction and it is amazing how the Universe answers your prayers in ways that you never expected, so new classes and gallery opportunities have come flooding in already this year. As a matter of fact, my first gallery of the year will be this Friday, at Center of Grace, from 7:30-9 pm in Hallandale Beach. Hope to see you there. I recently got a reading myself, from a very gifted local psychic/medium and I was overwhelmed by the support and loving messages I received from numerous loved ones who had crossed over. I was hoping to get a little more direction on where to focus most of my energy, career-wise, but being a messenger myself, you can not control what comes through and G-d always knows best, and I was in need of hearing from my loved ones more than I even realized myself until the reading was complete. People often ask, “As a medium, can’t you connect with your loved ones yourself?” I do feel them around me and get signs all the time but it is hard to read for yourself, because

you have your own personal emotions that alter the vibrations you need to function on in order to connect. Also, I am a firm believer that you should not
offer to others, anything that you would not do yourself. Therefore, I find it so fulfilling and meaningful to allow myself the pleasure of a personal reading once or twice a year.

There is still an interest in making my book a movie, and that is still in the works, but as is often the case in Hollywood, La La Land has its own clock that is often years behind one’s personal ambitions. Every day, Spirit amazes me and makes me fall more in love with my work and my personal connection to G-d. For that, I am eternally grateful and as I recently learned from Oprah’s Life class, I dream big and pray boldly. With full faith, I know this year will be amazing, and that is my wish for everyone. The key is to have gratitude now, have hope continuously and manifest boldly when prayers are answered.

Australia: the trip of a lifetime and a life-changing trip

December 8th, 2012

Australia – The Trip of a Lifetime and a Life-Changing Trip

Everything about my trip to Oz was memorable, including the flight from Los Angeles to Sydney. By the time I boarded the plane, at 8 p.m., on Saturday night, I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I had a beautiful couple of days in Los Angeles where I made beautiful memories with my close friends, Linda and Danielle, on Malibu Beach, and was filled with gratitude for that time. Linda and Marlene were gracious enough to open their home to me, and we had many laughs and great conversations along with delicious food. But I also had been working non-stop doing readings right up until the time that I left for California. Not wanting to waste any time in California, I was quite busy before leaving for Austraila. I felt so blessed to be able to make the journey over to Oz with Lisa, and as luck would have it, Lisa ended up being directly behind me in line to check the baggage. If we had planned it, it couldn’t have gone any better, but it was divinely planned.
I was very impressed with Virgin Australia Airlines. The airplane actually looked like a spaceship inside. As soon as we were up in the air, Lisa came back to where I was sitting, to show me all the extra gadgets on board. I was able to communicate with Lisa in another seating area by using a small telephone control that allows you to navigate a whole system of entertainment. After a full day of running around preparing for the trip, I was not feeling well and freezing cold and Lisa treated me like a queen and wrapped me up like a mummy. Even the food on the plane was good! Before long, I fell asleep and the flight was quite peaceful. Of course, the one bad patch of turbulence happened while I was in the bathroom stall. You have to picture it. For someone who has difficulty balancing on steady ground, imagine trying to balance with turbulence that is so unsteady that they advised the whole aircraft to fasten their seat belts. Again, if it weren’t for Lisa, I’d still be in that stall. Then, 13 hours later, we landed in Sydney. I was so excited to be in Australia. There were a couple of times I was overcome by tears. I knew when I got to Sydney, I was almost at my first destination of Melbourne, Australia. Lisa and Michelle, a stewardess on Virgin, helped me collect my large suitcase, push wheelchair and my ramp, all necessary to help me navigate Australia more easily. Before I knew it, I was on my next flight from Sydney to Melbourne. I was definitely a little nervous as I was on my own and would not see Lisa for another ten days when her course would begin in Queensland. As soon as I arrived in Melbourne, everyone was so friendly and offering to assist me, and the next thing I knew, I saw my beautiful friend Rachael, and her little son, Hayden. Rachael and I have been friends for three years, but this is the first time I would meet her in person. As soon as I saw her and Hayden coming down the escalator, I moved my wheelchair as fast as I could, to them. It definitely felt like the coming together of soul family. Rachael organized a nice gentleman named Joe with an accessible cab to pick me up at the airport. It was a 30 minute drive from the airport to Rachael’s home. I definitely felt far away from home, as they drive on the other side of the car. The scenery was beautiful with lots of trees and hills, and homes built into countryside. In some ways, it felt like we had traveled back in time as the shops are full of character and older in their architecture, and butcher shops and family doctor shops are located right in the middle of a shopping center. On the other hand, I loved how many homeopathic as well as organic food options were sprinkled in every shopping area. In fact, there were crystal shops and new age shops everywhere. Because of this heightened spiritual awareness, the energy of Melbourne felt very different. Even in the hustle and bustle of traffic, there was a steady peaceful feeling in the atmosphere. With my portable ramp, I easily got into Rachael’s new single-family home. The structure allows lots of light in and it was complete with a veggie garden and hammock out in the back. I felt right at home. Rachael is a single Mom who keeps a schedule, allowing her children to enjoy everything from athletics to playing the drums. Never complaining and constantly having to keep up with a crazy schedule that often lasted more than a 12-hour day. Just the washing and cooking alone is enough to make me tired, and on top of that, she had to help me with everything, because her house, of course, didn’t have grab bars and things that I’m used to having at home to help myself.
I really relished in every second of being part of the family routine and spending time with the children. Every day was filled with laughter and some days, I laughed so hard, my stomach hurt. Even the everyday bickering between the children was funny and Rachael handles it with humor and structure that can only be admired. One of my favorite memories of the children was watching music videos on Youtube with them, while Hannah, the middle child, videotaped her older sister and younger brother dancing with all their might, to the music. I had not laughed that hard in years. The best part, is when Hayden, the youngest, got on the kitchen counter and started dancing to the Sesame Street version of “I am Sexy” called “I am Elmo.” It was hysterical (if you need a good laugh, check it out on my Facebook page. I posted the video. It is too cute and funny)! Rachael also prepared a beautiful barbeque one of the nights I was there and invited some of her closest friends. Before we sat down to dinner, I was blessed to have a healing session with Rachael’s teacher and friend, Jane, and her husband, Dave. Jane and Dave alone are two amazing spiritual beings, and together, they make an incredible partnership providing healing and spreading love and light to others. Dave’s mastery of channeling his guide to offer insight into my personal physical and spiritual obstacles was incredible. Not only was he able to identify what was going on with me on a physical and spiritual level, but he also helped me understand how every event, past and present, are interconnected, and provided practical tools to help me heal and overcome those personal struggles. Then, given the information provided by Dave’s guide, Jane, with her angelic energy, leads you to a guided meditation that helps your spirit recognize that you and everyone come from a divine source of love and light. This meditation process leaves you feeling peaceful and as though you can accomplish and overcome whatever you desire. But even in expressing this experience, words are not enough to explain how beautiful and what a blessing it truly was to have a chance to receive healing from them. There was laughter and amazing spiritual conversation during dinner under the stars.
One afternoon Rachael took me to Jane’s spiritual shop and a beautiful café that was open and served only organic foods. It reminded me very much of California. Jane’s shop was beautiful and very large, filled with crystals, organic soaps, books, cards-everything you need to lead a more spiritual life. On this occasion, I also got to meet Rachael’s friend, Jenn, and her daughter, two beautiful ladies with great energy and spiritual insight. After the barbeque, when everyone left, Rachael and I spent time together, just vegging out watching psychic television. Not much was said, but it was understood, that we were taking the time to be present and enjoy each other’s company. It just goes to show, it’s not about the money you spend, or the things that you buy, but what’s important is the time you spend together. Before I knew it, it was time to head to Queensland with Rachael, for Lisa’s advanced Mediumship course. I was so excited for this next half of the trip because one of Rachael’s best friends, Kylee, had business in that area and would be meeting up with us in Queensland. She is bubbly and full of energy, always providing new insight and making things fun. Rachael and I had to leave at four in the morning to go to the airport for a short flight to Queensland. The energy and atmosphere in Queensland, is very similar to South Florida, humid, rainy, tropical and to many of the traveler’s dismay, it was raining when we arrived. It was obvious from their facial expressions, that they had come for a holiday and were not happy about the rain. However, Rachael and I were thrilled to be there for 5 days to study mediumship with a great teacher, Lisa, and to meet many Facebook friends we had never met in person. When we got back to the hotel, some students that were taking the beginner’s course of Lisa’s class, were gracious enough to let us use their room until our room was ready. When I woke up two hours later, I was greeted from numerous familiar faces from Facebook, who I considered to be soul sisters. Lots of hugs, kisses and even presents, it felt like Christmas. In fact, I never could have made it to Australia, if it weren’t for the generosity of these same soul sisters who came together to help me financially, and Rachael’s hospitality and generosity to help in my effort to come, and, of course, the generosity and love I received from Lisa Williams.
Later that evening, I found out that Lisa had come down with the flu, but was teaching through this. However, due to my own compromised immune system due to my condition, I couldn’t go near her. She sent me love from a distance and assured me she would be better in a few days. I also had the opportunity to meet my dear friend, Renee Eaves, who had survived, “I am a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here,” a week in the jungle, to share with me the most delicious chocolate drink I have ever had at the hotel. There was lots of laughter from her bravery and experiences in the wilderness of the jungles. Through it all, she was always a big supporter of mine and I of hers.
I can’t say enough how amazing the course is. The first day, Lisa had us doing activities to get to know each other. The group that I was a part of was an absolutely amazing group of people who I feel I will have a connection with for the rest of my life. The class was stimulating, interesting and fun all at the same time. I have studied with many teachers, various subjects in spirituality, but Lisa is, by far, one of the best teachers, as she makes herself accessible to the students and makes the world of mediumship and the other side tangible, an ability that she is born with and no one can do it with her same sense of expertise and practicality all at the same time. Rachael and I continued to support each other, and enjoyed connecting with close friends we met on Facebook. I am so grateful for Frank Matera’s insight and explanation of different things relating to mediumship that I had not thought of before or understood. He is a wealth of knowledge and extremely funny in his own right, without even trying. Being a medium myself, I have done many readings. Frank’s ability to connect with my mom in spirit was inspiring and extremely accurate. He got everything - her struggles, even the circumstances around her death. It was one of the most remarkable moments of the course. Although I have communicated with him over the years, and supported him on this spiritual journey, I had never spoken to him about my personal life. He blew me away with his ability. Another amazing moment was when I received a reading from my classmate named Christy, who connected with my beloved great aunts, who were sisters and always together. I was so happy to know that they were with me on my journey, because I always feel them around. Even as a medium myself, it’s always good to have validation. So, that reading was indeed another highlight of my experience. My soul sister, Gina Brock, organized a family dinner, where I was able to talk to Gina’s children and nieces. I love kids and the experience of having dinner with them and talking to them about their guides and angels was another highlight of my trip to Queensland. I have never felt closer to anyone as I do to my soul sisters, Gina, Nicole, Lisa Watt, Jodee and Fiona. They are an amazing group of women who hold a special place in my heart. Not to mention, they all give the best hugs and presents in the world. One night we all went to dinner as a group, and I got to meet Rachael’s other dear friend, Beck, who is like no one I’ve ever met. She’s spiritually connected, wise beyond her years, musically inclined, and all around, fun to be with. On the way home from dinner, she was driving back to the hotel, with myself, Rachael and Frank in the car. Our other friends, Jodee, Lisa Watt, and Fiona were in another car, following Becky back to the hotel, everyone in the car behind us could hear me laughing, and I seriously thought I would pee my pants. Lisa Watt and Jodee could not believe that, with three psychics on the car, no one could find their way back to the hotel. It was a great night. I also had the honor of meeting Theresa and Pat, two good friends of Lisa’s who were volunteering their time to assist with the course. They were so supportive, positive and upbeat. It was truly a pleasure to meet them and to get to know them on a personal level. I had the once-in-a-lifetime chance to support Rachael, as Spirit helped her to recognize her own inner beauty and that she must share with the public her divine purpose as a medium. There were many moments of fear and tears but I tried to be by her side and support her the best I could. Although there were a few moments I was afraid she was going to run, and it was necessary to tell the teacher, “I think we’re gonna lose Rachael.” But, Lisa handled it with professionalism and humor, like only she could. Rachael and the other class members were amazing. Rachael had stage presence, humility and accuracy as a medium and, like a true star, she shines brightly and I was brought to tears of joy for seeing how far Rachael blossomed in a week’s time. There were way too many other remarkable mediumship moments and friendships shared with other classmates to mention them all, but I will carry them deep in my heart . The last night in Queensland was extremely special because at two in the morning, Rachael, Kylee, Theresa and myself went on a joyride down to the beach, and Kylee and Theresa insisted that I must experience an Australian beach. Therefore, they stripped down to their underwear, carried me in my full pajama attire, and as I held onto their shoulders, down to the beach, while Rachael was the photographer captured every moment. The sand in Australia was like nothing I ever experienced. It was soft like silk and you sink right into what feels like a silk scarf. As I was being carried down, Rachael was dutifully reminding us, “Remember, Guys, you have to bring her back uphill.” I also got the chance to stand with help and feel my feet in the ocean. I had never felt, that I could remember, what it feels like when the ocean moves the sand under your feet as it moves forward and back. The experience was healing on many levels, and the sky was full of stars. It was a night to remember. Then, just as Rachael had said, we had to make our way back up the hill to where the car was. The sand was so soft that Theresa and Kylee literally sank in, and before we knew it, we were all laying flat on our backs laughing hysterically Rachael tried to keep her composure enough to take pictures, all three of us whaling in the sand. Eventually, we got it together, and as true troopers and friends, they carried me back up the hill and into the car.
One day, during class, Lisa did a reading for one of the students, and in true Lisa form, the reading was remarkable, but one component of the reading that I will never forget is when I looked back up, I think I had a vision of a past life experience, because I visually saw Lisa but she was dressed in interesting flamboyant clothing and was surrounded by beautiful colored curtains, with rings on all of fingers, and the student that she was reading for was dressed in clothing that looked like something you might see someone wearing in the 1930’s. It only lasted for a few minutes but it was amazing but I think it was confirmation that many of us had past life experiences together. I am positive I have had many past life experiences in Australia and with many of my friends, old and new. I love everyone I have had the honor of being connected with. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Oz and everyone in it. I love you! And, last but not least, I have eternal gratitude for Lisa for being my friend and helping me make my dream come true of going to Australia and learning to perfect my spiritual skills.

Exciting Times, Living and Loving in the Present

July 17th, 2012

As many of you know, I love the spiritual world that encompasses both my professional and personal life. I recently was blessed with getting a new job, working with teens in Rehab as an art therapist. This job literally fell in my lap, from one day to the next, so when it came about, I felt certain it was a call from Spirit or G-d. It is my belief that the rise in addiction in young people, is due to teens’ sensitivity to the overwhelming energies and challenges of living in the physical world. In order to cope with their ability to sense energy on a heightened level, they use alternative substances to numb their ability to feel the energies, as a way to cope with their sensitivities to the energetic shifts that are currently taking place in the physical dimension. Therefore, I try to integrate the understanding of energy and spirituality with traditional therapeutic modalities, using art as a platform for healing.
This job has also served as a blessing because it has helped remind me how creativity helps center me, connects me to Spirit, and allows Spirit to be channeled through my physical body, producing creative endeavors. Often, it is easy to forget the importance to express our creative side, because we get so caught up in living our day-to-day life, that creativity can be pushed aside. If you find yourself in an energetic funk, turn to creative activities. Try journaling, scrapbooking, or perhaps singing, because creative energy raises your vibration and will counteract that stagnant energetic position. Also, when you embrace creativity, you automatically connect to your Higher Self, creating a stronger link to Spirit.
I have been blessed with the opportunity to be on the Lisa Williams radio show where she is brave enough to address the issue of discrimination as it impacts those of us in the spiritual world, as well as other forms that continue to be prevalent in our nation and all over the world. I am so honored to be a featured guest during these series, because the issue of discrimination in any form, is an issue near and dear to my heart. There are exciting new projects that I will briefly introduce on the radio show, to be launched in the fall.
So many people have asked me lately about their life’s purpose. In an effort to understand how they are an intricate part of the spiritual transformation that is taking place in our physical world, to elevate the overall consciousness to a higher vibration. A rudimentary answer is to be kind, giving, and loving as much as possible, because any negative energy, whether it takes the form of a negative cognitive thought, or if it comes as an action that negatively impacts yourself or someone else, it all counts because in the end, negative energy is calibrated and, over time, can have an insurmountable impact on all of us. The same is true for acts of kindness and positivity. Therefore, let’s create an imbalance between negative energies and positive energies where positivity gains enough momentum to cancel out negativity. In other words, during these exciting times, live lovingly and savor the present, because this present moment will inevitably impact all moments to follow, whether that impact is negative or positive is up to each of us, in the choices that we make in our current existence.

Cali, Home Away From Home

July 11th, 2012

I recently had the blessing of getting away for a couple of days over the fourth of July, to Los Aneles, California. Of course, as always, the vacation went way too quickly, but even so, it was desperately needed and came at the perfect time. I stayed for the first time, in the Santa Monica area, to be closest to friends, and I loved it, because it is close enought to the Hollywood scene that you still feel the La La vibes, but it is more laid back and peaceful, with a rich history of natural beauty and the serenity of the Pacific Ocean. Upon arriving, I met a dear friend of mine, Linda, at Urth Cafe, in Santa Monica. Urth Cafe is an all-organic environmentally conscious cafe, which I love, as I stated with joy and happiness, that I recently lost 17 pounds. My dear friends spontaneously got up and ordered this delectable custard coconut pie, to help alleviate my current condition, and yes, that pie was worth every calorie. But, one of my favorite excuses for eating poorly when I’m away is, “I’m on vacation.” This justifies any ridiculous intake of insurmountable calories or fat content. Linda lso gave me the gift of being able to take a roll on the beach in an amazing beach wheelchair. It was magical and my soul was smiling from the inside out. It was a priceless gift that I will always cherish.
Then, I headed off to visit my dear friend, Lisa. It was relaxing and I felt right at home as I was greeted with open arms. The weather was sublime with the coolest of breezes. We sat around the kitchen counter and caught up. I also got to play with her two puppies, and really enjoyed some quiet R & R, especially since I had just finished my first week at my new job, working with teens in Rehab. I love it! But, I give so much of myself it can sometimes leave me feeling grateful, but drained.
Lisa has a beautiful home with a family of hummingbirds that routinely put on a show for visitors over the handmade hummingbird food they receive each day. They are actually fascinating creatures to watch-quite magical, feisty and full of personality.
The next day was the Fourth of July. Lisa prepared a typical Fourth of July feast with burgers, salad and an ever-festive Cosmo. Once again, it was a day filled with peace and the beauty of friendship and feeling at home.
Actually, one of my favorite moments was sitting by the piano while Lisa played, and singing show tunes with her. I also got to visit my friend Danielle who is a gifted medium I am taking under my wing as I see great potential in her, and I feel as though we were sisters in a past life. We enjoyed doing oracle card readings for each other, in the middle of the farmers’ market, while onlookers stopped to take notice, although there was never a feeling of what we were doing being out of the ordinary. That is one fo the reasons I vibe so well with the California energy. I also was lucky enough to get my latest tattoo of Tinkerbell as I see tattoos as an outward expression of my inner spirit and am such a fan of High Voltage, known of LA Ink’s work, I get something done whenever possible, when I am there, and in this latest phase of my life, I believe with more certainty that anyone’s dreams can come true, if they are fully invested in the manifestation. Therefore, Tinkerbell felt like the perfect choice for my latest tattoo masterpiece. No mater where I live, Cali will always be my home away from home, because my spirit or soul, feels content, and energetically matched, the moment the plane lands on the west coast.

I Can See Clearly Now

June 12th, 2012

Returning from a weekend retreat in Atlanta, to the conference Through the Veil 2012, I feel blessed and connected. Georgia, in general, has a beautiful, inviting energy, with the best of Southern hospitality and a modern edge. Upon arriving at the hotel, which was the Hyatt on Peachtree Road, I was impressed at the massive size of the hotel alone, and the customer service was above and beyond what is usually found at a 4-Star hotel, because it was accompanied by the sweet Georgia Peach hospitality. I first attended Opening Ceremonies and was deeply moved by the prayer offering recognizing the Native American elders and the desire for participants to reach that pivotal point in their own spiritual transformation when change embracing a higher consciousness unfolds. Although I was deeply entrenched in the presentation, all of a sudden, I noticed a vibration on my cell phone, indicating a text, and sure enough, my dear friend, Lisa Williams, who was a keynote speaker at the conference, text, “I am right behind you.” I quickly took the gentleman who was seated beside me in the front row by surprise, as my wheelchair rapidly rolled backwards and I spun around as quickly as I could, in my form of wheelchair running, over to embrace Lisa, who was trying to stay incognito in the back of the room, taking in the presentation. Throwing our arms around each other, we quickly embraced and went briefly out the door, to greet each other. Then, feeling spiritually pulled to hear the rest of the lecture, we returned into the opening event. Feeling as though that particular lecture was written specifically for us, we let the message settle into our energy, as we decided what to do for dinner. I feel sorry for the pretty little waitress who waited on us, because she came back countless times, because we paid no attention to the menu, as we caught up over a year’s worth of events, news, happiness, sadness and this beautiful journey we call life. Finally ordering, we enjoyed our dinner, and soon were greeted by other presenters of the weekend, covering spiritual topics of all sorts. It was a great time for me to serve as an observer, and not be working, as the three days prior to leaving, I had literally worked 13 hours each day, with back-to-back readings, something I was pleased about, but in need of some “Me Time.”

The next day, I slept in, something I rarely do, and truly enjoyed being in the presence of the stillness of my hotel room, and the beautiful skyline of downtown Atlanta. I was excited to get all dressed up to support Lisa at that night’s event, so with my long, silky evening dress, and hair and make-up complete, Lisa and I stepped out to greet the memories in the making. I was blessed with the honor of attending the semi-formal dinner with the authors and sat with some remarkable people and teachers as our table assignments were chosen at random, which I loved, because it allowed Spirit to pick the place settings. Then, before I knew it, it was time for Lisa to do her gallery. With bated breath, I watched in the front row, as I constantly learned from Lisa’s amazing ability to connect with Spirit, and intertwine it with Lisa’s sparkle and showmanship. The messages she delivered were precise, profound and humorous all at once. She truly is a maverick in the field, and a treasure to humanity. Lisa is not afraid to accentuate her down-to-earth realism while recognizing the majestic quality of a true connection with Spirit.

After the show, the fun continued as we made our way to the karaoke bar. She and I sang “Material Girl” together, which is rather ironic, because it fully embraces living in the physical dimension, but it brought back terrific memories of when I first heard the upbeat rhythms of Madonna’s early album. Then, Lisa took the stage on her own, and shared yet another talent, singing one of my favorites, “Wind Beneath My Wings” and yes, being the sappy sap that I am, I recorded it, and will play it back anytime I need to feel just the slightest hint of the magic from that night. There are always those few friends in our lives, who no matter how much time passes, the literal distance between us, has no impact on the bond and over time, you continue to help each other grow, appreciate and make it through life, both the ups and downs. This past weekend allowed me to once again remember, that the only thing in this dimension that truly matters, is love, friendship, peace and happiness, all experiences that are invisible, and that which is visible, is merely an illusion we all become closer to seeing clearly through the veil which encompasses what we perceive as life.

A Blessed Birthday

May 25th, 2012

I had the best birthday! On the actual day, which was Tuesday, May 22, I had lunch with my best girlfriend, and pampered myself. I also was able to buy some toys at the Apple store, and got a beautiful amethyst bracelet. As all of you know, amethyst is my all-time favorite stone because of its intense healing properties and protective ability to change negative energy into positive energy. That evening, I had dinner with my family, and enjoyed watching my niece grow by the second. No matter where we go or what we do, she is the best entertainment ever. To my surprise, when I got home, there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers from my dear friends, and soul family, Lisa Williams and Charlie. I can not believe it has been over a year since I have seen Lisa and I am in need of a witchy woo fix! The next day, I took a second day off and went to my favorite organic café, with my other bff, Becky, and then we made our way to the Morikami Gardens. It was great! I cannot believe after living here for eight years, I had never been there before. The gardens took my breath away and made me feel like I was in another country. I loved the bamboo cove. I never knew that when the wind blows, bamboo, being hollow, makes the most incredible crackling sound. Sometimes it sounds like those rainmakers. Other times, it sounds like an old wooden door, opening and closing. But, in the middle of this majestic creation, I felt truly blessed and loved, and I made a point to take in every second and be present, as those moments were treasured memories in the making. There was a giant Buddha in the middle of one of the gardens and I made a point to make a wish and rub the belly. As I did so, a gentleman walked up and said, “I hope your wish comes true.” I quickly said, “It already has.” Recently, I have been working very hard to do positive affirmations, recognizing that all my dreams are already a reality, so I support that by confidently stating they have happened. Changing your thinking in this way is not easy, but it is the key to mastering the law of attraction. When I made this statement, the man, a little befuddled, replied, “Oh, okay. That’s great.” But even his confused response helped to put my dream into action. On Facebook, on my birthday, I wrote that my birthday wish was that everyone show each other loving kindness, starting with themselves first. I did this recognizing that I believed the meaning in life is defined by spreading love with each other, and in turn, watching that ripple effect come back to myself as giving light to others only helps your own light illuminate more of your soul and awaken the divine energy that G-d has imparted within each of us.

I hope all of you remember to be good to yourself and you are the strongest component to making your dreams a reality, so work hard to reframe your thinking to embrace the reality that you are wanting to occur. Love, light and blessings.
