Forever Grateful and Thankful for the Love and Support

August 29th, 2011

As many of you know, the last several weeks have been extremely challenging for me, over the recent misfortunate events involving my puppies. If, for some reason, you do not know what I am referring to, please read the last blog post. To provide a brief update, I have secured legal assistance to help me in the pursuit of regaining custody. Regardless of the outcome, I am grateful for the learning experience that this painful time in my life has provided. It is in the darkest hours that those with the purest of heart and brightest healing light, shine through. This has really been a time of reflection  for me and a time of learning who my true friends are. I want to take this chance to thank my fans and supporters who I consider like friends and family, for their continued prayers. I especially want to thank one fan, Jill, who was kind enough to send a care package filled with everything I like, in terms of food, and other items necessary for personal care. She also sent treats for my kitty who is currently living like the Siamese queen that she is. There are many of you out there who have also helped to make this trying time more bearable, Jolie, Kevin, Lorna, Kimberlee, Lisa, Holly, my soul sisters, Becky and Racca, and so many more. Please continue to pray that, at the very least, my therapy dog, Chaz, is returned, as he and I have never been apart more than a few days. I a a firm believer in astrotravel, and a spiritual connection, particularly when it relates to animals. In fact, a few nights ago, I had the most amazing dream, where one of my mentors who is extremely spiritually gifted, popped into my dream, in her jolly way, and announced that she had brought my dogs back. The interesting thing is that when she revealed the four dog leashes, each dog looked a little bit transparent. Therefore, I became alarmed and said, “Oh my God, are they in spirit?” “No, no, no,” she reassured, “I taught them to astrotravel, so they are with you in spirit.” It was the most amazing experience because I could feel, smell and hold them just as though they were right there. Another dear friend of mine, Andrew, recently purchased Barbra Streisand’s latest album for me, as he knows that her music is very healing for me, after reading my memoir, and there is one song on there, entitled, “What Matters Most”, that I dedicate to my fur babies, because it discusses the importance of love and how it transcends time, space and emotion. Therfore, once again, I want to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers. Always remember, no matter how hard the rain falls, if you continue to look up and seek God’s love, eventually you will see the rainbow. Forever grateful and thankful for the love and support. Love, light and blessings, Melissa

Worst Day of my Life- the System Failed Both Me and My Fur Babies

August 11th, 2011

On Monday, August 8th, I asked our men and women of service, at the Coral Springs Police Department, to help me, believing that my one dog was dying right before my eyes. Therefore,  I made the decision to call Animal Control, as no other service would provide transportation which I could not secure myself because I’m in a wheelchair and don’t drive, and my transportation had already left my home by the time I realized my babies were in trouble.
First, let me make it clear, that I elicited the unit’s help myself. There was no complaint filed against me and before reaching out to the unit, I had made numerous attempts to attain help. I have four dogs, and have always been able to care for them better than most owners. In fact, a few years ago, Monica Fedderwitz came to my residence because a neighbor made a complaint that they were barking a great deal. When she arrived at my residence, she did not indicate to me that she was with Animal Control. She only showed me her badge as part of the Coral Springs Police Department, and she had no warrant to enter my property. Regardless, I let her in, and she examined that they were living under very good conditions, and left the premises with no further issue. On Monday, August 8th, I called Animal Control because I had been outside of the home for several hours leaving the dogs in the care of a woman by the name of Linda Murphy, who was a cousin to my current housekeeper. They were under the care of new people because I have been out of work since May, 2010. Therefore, I went from earning $6500/mo. to $615/mo. and couldn’t afford the previous daily petsitting service that my dogs were accustomed to. The new individuals agreed to watch and walk my four little dogs while I was away, on and off, for 3 days while I was going to job interviews and other events to promote my business that involves my newly published book about my life. When I arrived home Monday evening, at 11:30 p.m., I found all four little dogs in their crates, with food piled almost up to the roof of the cages, three of the four dogs ate quite a bit of the food, but did not consume all of it. One day prior, I had purchased a four-pound bag of dog food, for the next few weeks. When I entered the room, the bag of dog food was empty. I immediately opened the cages, to let the dogs outside. All four of them had severe diarrhea, and did not even make it outisde the house before relieving themselves after consuming so much food. Thereofrfore, feces was spread throughout the room, and I, being restricted to my wheelchair, was unable to clean it up. I frantically began trying to call friends for help and was not able to reach anyone. After allowing the dogs to walk outside, I noticed that my King Charles Cavalier was the only dog that had consumed the majority of the food that was left in his cage. He began shaking and whimpering, I picked him up, as he continued to have severe diarrhea, and held him. I immediately called the 24-hour animal hospital and was informed that someone would need to bring the dog in. Unable to drive, I called several animal rescue numbers I found searching on the Internet, only to be greeted by a voicemail stating that there was no more room available for additional dogs. Three weeks prior to this incident, I called an animal shelter in Boca Raton, as recommended by my previous groomer, statinfg that I was out of work, and needed additional assistance to provide food and care for the dogs, only to, once again, be informed there were no spaces available. During this time, there were periods of two days where I could not afford enough dog food, and fed them human food, always checking the internet to make sure it was safe for them. Therefore, they had lost some weight due to the dietary changes and inconsistency of amounts consumed. About ten days ago, I called my vet, explaining the situation, that I needed help with the dogs, and was told that someone would get back to me. 24 hours later, I got a voicemail giving me the Boca shelter number that had already refused to place the dogs. Once more, on Monday morning, I called my groomer, begging for assistance as I knew, at the very least, Chaz, my King Charles, needed to get emergency assistance. It was at that pointI was given the number for the animal control unit.

Officers arrived about 45 minutes-1 hour after the initial call. I immediately escorted them to where the dogs were, as they had been placed back in the crates while I made phone calls to try and get assistance. The first person indicated to me that I was not allowed to go anywhere near the animals and began taking photographs of the feces that was covering the room. She also indicated that there was some feces, outside, throughout the house, and that was due to my wheelchair tires tracking it, as I was frantically going back and forth to and from the phone, and checking on the dogs. She then told me she was calling a community service worker to help me find placement. I am completely capable of caring for my daily needs and my house, with the exception of cleaning the floors and other extranneous cleaning efforts. I was repeatedly begging the female officer to help my dogs. She said she could not do anything until her supervisor arrived. Therefore, she stood in my garage with two other officers, waiting for the supervisor for three hours, while my King Charles lay shaking violently in the back of the cage, and demanded that I not go anywhere near the dogs to give them comfort. I was also forced to stay outside in the heat, until the supervisor arrived. Finally, an older gentleman, claiming he was the supervisor, entered the house, and took one look at my King Charles, and said, “He looks like he is nearly dead. We probably have to euthanize him.” At which point, I became hysterical. Then, the senior officer asked me where I would like the dog to be taken. I said, “Please take him to Riverside Animal Hospital on Wiles Road, because they have all of his records and I believe that it’s the closest facility.” The police officer stated that the dogs could not receive help until I signed a surrender form, surrendering them to police care. I did not receive a copy of these forms, nor did I understand that, in doing so, I was giving up all my rights to the animals. I was asked repeatedly where my family was, to which I explained, “I do not have family. If I did, they would be called. The dogs are my family.” The senior officer even suggested that perhaps, one of my friends who had finally arrived on the scene, because they were coming from Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, could take one or two of the dogs and care for them for me, so I could maintain contact. She stated, “No. She must sign these papers.” Then, a crime scene investigator arrived, who, after briefly introducing himself, said to me, “You had better go ahead and sign those papers and you better not be lying about anything, or you’re gonna be in a lot of trouble.” Both the policewoman and the crime scene investigator were probing me for dates and details about the dogs’ care, when I was extremely emotionally distressed because my dog had still not received help. They removed my King Charles finally, at 4:45 p.m. Then, the officer asked me if I understood what was going on after I had signed the papers, even though I had told her I had two Master’s and was working on my doctorate in Marriage and Family counseling. Then, she said, “The community service person has arrived, and thank God, so did my friends, because she stated that she was finding me placement for an assisted living facility, when my best friend said, “That’s crazy! She’s able to care for herself. She’s just been struggling financially, and searching for additional assistance to help with the dogs for weeks.” That’s when the policewoman offered her mother’s business card as a housekeeper and said that she’s trustworthy to help me clean the house. As she removed the three last dogs from the house, she allowed me to say goodbye to them, and became emotional herself as one dog placed a paw on either side of my neck and would not let go, crying out excessively. At that point, she stated, “Wow. They really love you.” I said, “Of course, I’m their mother.”

The next day, a social worker arrived, finding that the house was perfectly clean and that I was not a harm to myself or anyone else, and asked me why it was that they had been asked to come to the house. I informed him that my refrigerator had stopped working, however, I was in the process of talking to church services to try and receive a new one, as well as the air conditioning that had stopped working for the sixth time, although I was working on getting assistance with that as well. I called the policewoman to inquire about my dogs, and she stated, “Call your vet. You’re responsible for the bill, if you can cover it.” I then told her I would but I would need to do it in payments. She told me to speak to the vet. When I called the vet, he apologized, stating that he did not realize I had called a week and one-half earlier, because he was on vacation. Therefore, he told the officers that I had been a great pet owner, but didn’t understand why I didn’t call him, unaware of my previous phone call, until he checked the records and did, indeed, find that I had called for help. He then told me that one of his vet techs, who was very familiar with my King Charles Cavalier, wanted to foster him or adopt him, because he knew the dog and that way, I could still be able to see him. The policewoman stated that was impossible, that they were going to a rescue group. Finally, today I collected their clothes and toys, and called the policewoman to ask her if someone could come to pick up the dogs’ things, so they could have belongings that they were used to. To which she replied, “I can’t do it because I am going ovn vacation in a few days. Give them to my mother when you see her tomorrow, when she comes to assess your house for cleaning. I will be seeing her later tomorrow.” I then began to cry, and she stated, “Why are you crying? We are not pressing charges against you.” And I said, “I’m worried because my KIng Charles has been trained to be with me, as a disabled person, and after a few days, if he’s not in my presence, he’ll refuse to eat.” To which she responded, “You are the one with the problem. The dogs are eating just fine and are very happy. They do not give a shit about you and they will be put in a good home away from you.” Then, she said, “Be careful, because I’m trying to take your cat away from you, so you better get her to the vet, and I will check that the vet actually sees the cat.”

(My cat is a 13 year-old Siamese and she has always been slimmer, but in the last two years, has become skinny, which, according to the vet, is due to old age. There’s always food and water at her disposal at all times. The policewoman stated that she was coming back to the premises and if the cat did not “fatten up” by the time she returned, she would be removed from the home. She also stated that the only reason they were allowing the cat to stay with me from the beginnning, was because she was old and no one else would want her. I am fully able to accept that due to financial difficulties, the dogs will have better quality of life in an environment outside of my home, however, I asked the policewoman if I could get a job and prove financial stability, could I have at least one of the dogs. She stated, “No. That’s why I got you to sign those papers.” I can live with them going to another home. I’m asking that I be allowed to have contact ocassionally, for my own mental health and to ensure that the dogs are happy and healthy. I am asking for any advice or assistance as the system has failed both me and my dogs, and I need help. Love, light and blessings, as always, Melissa

The Circle of Life Continues

July 26th, 2011

I recently took a week off from readings, because I lost a dear friend who was like a mother to me. In my book, My Life with Robin, I talk about my first love, Matthew, and Matthew’s mother tragically passed away at 12 am Monday morning, July 18th. She was a beautiful person, who never lost her zest for life, or belief in God, even after losing four children. She and her husband, Richard, continued their crusade to serve the Lord by helping others, as active members of their large church, Church of the Redeemer in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Sharleen was a hero to me for many reasons, including because she raised a remarkable young man, who became my first love, and she exemplified everything that a mother should be and more. In fact, I referred to her as “Mom Sharleen,” even now that she has transitioned into the spirit world. The remarkable thing is that early Sunday night I had gone to bed and fallen asleep about 10 o’lock, only to wake up at exactly 12:40, with the warmest sensation coming over me, as well as a deep feeling of dread. After that, I was unable to go back to sleep, and remarkably, at 4:23 in the morning, I received an e-mail from her husband, giving me the news that Sharleen had passed. I couldn’t believe it, when I read that she passed at 12:41, one minute after I had awoken from my sleep. Therefore, I am convinced she came to give me a hug goodbye and tell me that she would join the angels in spirit that watch over me from the other side on a regular basis. The other remarkable part about receiving the e-mail was that, for two days prior, I was unable to read or open any e-mail on my phone, and Robin, my guide, told me to check my e-mail moments before Richard sent the e-mail about Sharleen’s situation. Even though, as a medium, I am able to connect, and believe wholeheartedly in the afterlife, when you lose someone close to you, the pain is just as difficult because we long for the physical contact and our hearts break for other loved ones that have been left behind. But I am happy that she is with her children and God now, in a beautiful place, and know that as my grief lessens, I will feel her presence often. One week later, I am once more enjoying doing readings and everyday, honored to help others as God uses me as his instrument. The gift that I am most proud of is that I am able to do medical intuitive readings where I can help people identify what is making them not feel well. A close friend of mine was suffering from various symptoms that could not be explained when my guide told me that there was something wrong with the water they were drinking from home. As it turns out, after simple testing, there were high levels of mercury in the water. Because of the grace of God, my guide was able to solve another medical mystery. It is because of moments like that that I so proudly continue to do this work. I am excited to announce that I am planning a trip to Australia come the middle of November, where several local events will be planned for me to do private readings and seminars. Please keep following me on Twitter and Facebook, to stay updated. I plan to be in the Melbourne area as well as Queensland. I am also starting, very soon, a second blog where I will expand on different topics covered on my Psychic in Your Pocket segment. Often, it can become frustrating because divine timing takes much longer than we anticipate, however, when we are following our life’s purpose serving others, divine timing does always occur right on time. No matter what difficulties you may be facing, realize that you must continue following your dreams as following your dreams allows the melody of your heart to be heard, making up the harmonious music in this wonderful world of ours, as the cycle of life continues.

Spreading Love around the World

July 14th, 2011

My life has truly been a whirlwind lately, but it’s not a tonrando and that’s always good. LOL! I have been blessed with so many opportunities to get to know people from all over the world, because of the wonderful advances we have with technology. On July 12, I had the honor of being a guest on “Into the Mystic,” hosted by Heather Tobin, and I had such a fabulous time. Her questions were intriguing, fun, and helped me to “see” my book from a reader’s perspective, as she gently probed me to expand on how the book came about, and what I hoped and dreamed of, in terms of the book. She has such beautiful, radiant energy that, spending any time with Heather, is like basking in the warm morning sun. I want to thank everyone who listened and for those who have not had the opportunity, I’m excited to let you know you can still listen by downloading the interview for free on ITunes. Just type in “Heather Tobin, Into the Mystic” and click my name. I also had the pleasure of chatting live with Paris Hilton last night, while her show, “The World According to Paris,” aired on Oxygen. It turns out that a psychic was on the show doing a reading for her and her mother, and I happened to enter the chat room, asking Paris what she thought of psychics. The fun went on from there. The vibes in the chat room were really positive and we got to converse back and forth. Hopefully, I will be able to give her a formal reading sometime in the near future. I am also going to be doing live gallery readings in local spiritual churches around South Florida, so please stay updated on Facebook and Twitter, as to my whereabouts. I am thrilled for these opportunities and they will help me prepare for a huge weekend event in Los Angeles in late September/early October. Also, thank you to everyone who continues to comment on my book, on the Facebook page dedicated to my book.  Remember to check it often, as I will continue to offer contests for free readings, and other prizes regularly, via both Facebook pages and Twitter. I’m also excited to announce that I will be doing more filming for Psychic in your Pocket, very soon, so please, send in your questions via my YouTube channel, mhevenor94.  I am so excited to continue to serve and meet all of you, throughout the rest of the summer as I offer summer specials and attend local “Meet and Greet” engagements. I periodically will be asking questions about my book and for those who answer correctly, or have the best answers, you will be eligible to win a free Skype reading, so if you haven’t yet, pick up your copy and it will inspire you and provide you an opportunity to win a reading. I love you all dearly, and remember-when life gets tougher, just dream bigger. Never stop believing and stay positive, as constant positivity equals a multitude of blessings. Love, light and blessings, Melissa

An Update from the Psychic in Your Pocket

June 30th, 2011

Recently, I attended a psychic fair that I absolutely adored becasue I was able to help many people in a short amount of time, and get the word out about my services. There are also many projects in the works that center around my book, My Life With Robin, therefore I recently created a Fan page for the book on Facebook. I am anticipating feedback because a collection of frequent comments and opinions on the book will help mold the upcoming projects. Therefore, don’t hold back. With that being said, I am aware that there are some editing issues because of the pressure to finish writing by a deadline, but I am still very proud of the finished product and would like to help get the story out to help as many as possible, so please let me know, specifically, what aspects you enjoyed about the book, or perhaps what could have used more explanation or deletion. All opinions welcome. Just be polite considering that this is a public forum.

The other exciting aspect of this new page is that I will be providing regular opportunities to win free readings, based on the people who like the page and answer the questions I pose, pertaining to the book. because I want your feedback to be considered when making new editions, other media formats and throughout the writing process of the next book. Ruthie is your friend, and I want this character to help you on your spiritual journey wherever you are along the way, as the main character, based off of myself, is here for you. Also, videos are welcome if that’s easier than writing, and I am also working on a children’s series that  I will be making avaiable in the months to come. Therefore, there will be an area for your children’s input as well, although my first book, My Life with Robin, is not for a young audience. Psychic In Your Pocket will also be filming new episodes so keep the questions coming on Youtube! It is going to be an exciting summer and I am so happy to share it with you, even if you’re snuggling up to y our computer while it rains outside. Always remember, anything is possible, and your wildest dreams are only limited by lack of imagination, so embrace your inner light and shine, and I am here as the psychic in your pocket. Much love and light, Melissa

Happy Summer

June 22nd, 2011

Recently I have been very busy doing readings, radio show and organizing future events that I am very excited about. I recently taught a Charka class at Buddha Happy in Wilton Manors, FL and look forward to teaching many more. Many of you will be happy to know that I have been working of my next book. I am working on a mediumship 101 How To Book. Over the last couple of weeks I have had limited transportation causing me to spend more time at home. Fortunately, I am still able to do my readings and keep things rolling from one place. I think it was the Universe forcing me to meditate and reflect as I embark on exciting new career adventures coming this fall. Although, at first my circumstances caused me to feel a little bit stuck, I was able to realize that there is more to the picture than our present circumstances. It is important to live in the present while also understanding that the present moment is only a fraction of Gods plan and it to should pass. As they often say when God closes a door or stops your car he opens a window. During this time I was asked to speak to a support group of mothers who have lost a child to drug and alcohol addiction. When I began to speak I approached the mom’s as a counselor who has worked many hours with young people battling addiction but in a complete God incidence he paved the way for me to address being a psychic/medium in front of these beautiful women coming from all different religious backgrounds. This experience touched me so deeply as I saw there beautiful light and strength to come together to support each other making a difference after such a tragedy as losing a child. The experience also taught me to once again trust without doubt God and my Guide, Robin, knowing that they always know better if I stay attuned and trust that things will happen exactly as they should. Therefore no matter what difficulty that you may be facing try to remember there is more to it than the present hardship and blessings are right around the corner. Wishing everyone a wonderful beginning of summer and look forward to providing summer sale opportunities for those of you in need of a reading. Remember I love you and I am excited to spend the summer sharing a part of my life though my blogs.

Love, Light and Blessings

Just Keep Shining as Darkness Invades

May 23rd, 2011

Yesterday was my birthday, and I felt so blessed to be surrounded by beautiful, intelligent, loving women that I am lucky enough to call my friends. First, we had lunch, then a delicious homemade chocolate cake. I got amazing presents, and most important, was surrounded by their amazing presence. Finally, the night was topped off by a late-night movie that had me in stitches, “Rio,” and soft-serve yogurt in the most hip, fashionable parlor I’ve ever seen. Needless to say, there were blessings all around.

Today is another story. It takes a lot to get me down, but due to some issues with my car, I will not be able to use it for quite some time, until I have the means to fix the problem. Even though I am in a wheelchair, I’m constantly on the go. In fact, I have over 100,000 miles on my van that is only a 2007. I love to travel, and being that my van is wheelchair-friendly, I often help friends of mine who are wheelchair-bound to get their transportation. In fact, when President Barak Obama was being elected, the poll workers were laughing because my van transported over twenty people who would otherwise not have been able to make it to the polls to vote, regardless of their political stance, for the mere fact, that I felt like this past election was monumental in trying to elevate the United States during this economic slump. Anyway, I find it hard to accept being immobile. Therefore, I hope this period passes quickly. However, I’m not gonna let this get the best of me, because I know there is a lesson to be learned within these circumstances and I will continue to shine my light and help others as best I can, from one location. If you also notice, I am less frequently on the internet. It is because I do not have internet access from home at this time. I will do my best to keep you updated and stay connected. Even if we have to take events that are difficult moment by moment, or breath by breath, it is important to always seek the positive. There is always a deeper life lesson in any given circumstance, and we can only find the hidden treasures in these challenging moments if we try and look at the larger picture, and not let moments that may be riddled with frustration, or any other negative emotion, cripple our progress or efforts to move forward. Therefore, I am thankful to begin a new year, as a young, vibrant, 35 year-old woman, with big dreams that are closer to frutition every second of every day. No matter what darkness invades your world, seek the light and you will be miraculously surprised at what illuminates your world. Love, light and blessings, Melissa

Mother Earth and All her Glory

May 9th, 2011

In celebration of Mother’s Day, I wanted to write a blog about the importance of female strength, and the beauty of motherhood when it is valued correctly. However, yesterday I decided to disconnect myself from technology, in an effort to provide a peaceful environment in my house to meditate and connect with those on the other side. Therefore, I was not able to write this blog until today.

A mother is so much more than the woman who brings a baby into the world; Mother’s Day is difficult for me, personally, because my natural mother took her own life the day before Mother’s Day, and my great aunts who were two of the most generous, beautiful women that embodied everything a mother is supossed to be, are now on the other side. Thus, yesterday, I worked hard to raise my vibration and feel them around me, as we always celebrated Mother’s Day together, feeling grateful that god had brought us all together. My natural mother battled mental health issues most of her life, and was, at times, very difficult to love, no matter how hard I tried. The good news is since her passing, she has gone though spiritual school, and discussed with God what she could have done differently in order to make better choices, and if she had been able to be half as loving while she was on earth as she is in spirit, she would have saved me  many hours in therapy. Now she is on my spiritual team, and helps me with readings, providing advice, and tries her best to leave me signs to let me know she is supporting me all the time. Of course, I long to hug her physically, but I am so grateful to have her at peace, and to get the chance to witness who she is without her illness and I am grateful everything has happened the way that it has.

I also got the chance to spend time with my furbabies, who were very happy  to have their “Mama” at home, spending time with them, and it is during this time, that I began thinking about our magestic Mother Earth. I do not believe it is common practice to recognize Mother Earth on Mother’s Day, and this is in fact, a shame because without Mother Earth, all of us wold be in trouble. Every day, when we wake up, we are blessed to have another day on this planet. It is important to respect the planet and teach our children the miraculous qualities that Mother Earth possesses.

She strokes us daily with her gentle breezes, as the sun beams down with her beautiful leaves and branches, the heat she eases. When daybreak creeps across our bedroom window, the beautiful sunlight wakes us as she teases.

Wake up, sleepyhead! I have beautiful gifts I want to spread.” You can sit by the water, or climb up a tree, all of these gifts were given by me.” The more that you recognize my efforts with love, the more you will see my divine presence sent from above.” I love every organism, tree, bird or flower, you can see my beauty anytime, no mattler the hour. Although I am beautiful andl, quiet, I am not without power.

I am known as Mother Earth for one reason it’s true, because I give you everything without asking a thing of you.”

If you find Mother’s Day to be difficult, either because your mother is no longer with you, just remember she is always there, in spirit, and if you do not have a good relationship with your mother, remember there is one mother that greets you every day. This is, of course, Mother Earth, and every moment  of every day, she shares all her glory in every way.

Praying for Peace, Gathering for Hope and Spreading Love

May 2nd, 2011

I feel compelled to address the recent killing of Osama bin Laden. Although I rejoice for those family members who feel closure and vindication, because the man responsible for 9/11, which took the lives of their family and friends, has been eliminated, it is difficult for me to rejoice on a personal level, over the death of another human being, because I am a firm believer that violence breeds violence, and I now fear more deaths will come inthe form of a retaliation, and my ever-vigilant sending of protection and love to President Barack Obama will only continue with greater intensity as I fear that his life is in greater jeopardy than ever before. My desire to protect him comes out of reaching out to another human being who has take on the position as President of our country. In other words, my sending of white light is not necessarily a political declaration, but rather, a humanitarian stance, in hopes of greater peace in the world. However, I am a firm believer that all the devastation, including this most recent loss of life during the national disasters, falls under the umbrella of the energy shift that is percolating as we reach the middle of 2011, what I believe to be an Angel year. The idea that this year is an Angel year does not mean the year is particularly easy, but the greater masses of people will recognize their individual life purpose, in terms of how to spread more light in the world, making them feel closer and connected to the angelic realm and vibration. I have so much hope in the wake of natural disasters, as human beings are coming together and being reminded of the important things in life-love, compassion and peace. This shift is also causing a greater number of people to recognize their own personal connection to divine light and God. It would be very easy during this time of transition, to feel anxiety about future events, although worry and anxiety is crippling, and inhibit perpetual movemnt forward. It makes no difference how small we each move forward, what is important is our continued effort and progress. Therefore, I find hope in continued pursuit of projects in the form of manuscript, television and big screen endeavors that will, at the very least, shine light to greater populations, to illuminate the beauty that this world and the spirit world encompasses.

With this in mind, I am excited to tell you to keep an eye out for all the great things yet to come, as they will be announced on my Facebook, Twitter, and television soon enough. The first of these exciting, new events is my next Book Signing at New Age Books n’Things in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Friday, May 6th; from 5-7 p.m. EST, I will be reading parts of my book and signing copies, and from 7-8 EST will be a Question/Answer/Discussion session. I hope many of you can make it, and work to find outlets and opportunities to shine light during these difficult times that  sometimes try to overshadow the light and beauty within all of us. Even if it is the smallest gesture of a smile, or a positive twitter, do whatever you can to keep spreading love in a world that hungers and needs affection. Love, light and blessings, Melissa

Happy Passover, Easter, the Whole Shebang! In Other Words, Happy New Beginnings!

April 21st, 2011

I LOVE this time of year more than any other, because it is the time of the year when major shifts in energy take place to promote the positive and allow for the blessings of a new season. Sometimes, the Christmas season or that holiday season can bring about sadness because of losses that have been experienced involving family. However, for me, personally, spring and the holidays that take place during this time, bring me great joy, because they encompass so much more than eating, collecting sweets and any other commercial ritual that have taken form to celebrate. In the Jewish tradition, Passover is a time when the Israelites who were enslaved, took a leap of faith with a spiritual man of God named Moses, to find freedom and abide by the wisdom of God to avoid great trepidation. Those people who are willing to believe in this miracle made a statement over their homes, by spreading the blood of a lamb over the doorways to symbolize that they believed in God’s power and his ability to protect them from ten plaguesthat were put in place to befall those who were trying to act as God, reigning over the slaves in Egypt. Therefore, the holiday Passover receives its name because taking this leap of faith and making the declaration visible, about their belief in God’s word, allowed those people to have the plagues pass over them. Once again, I must say how much I love this story! There is such an important message of having faith and forging through whatever hardship comes your way, knowing that, in the end, God has a plan and we are part of that plan who have been blessed with the ability to spread his light and shine upon whatever darkness the world embodies.

From a Christian persective, Easter exemplifies the idea of rebirth or second chances as were granted to Jesus after his resurrection from the horrible, horrific death from the earth plane he endured, due to his dedication to his father, God. God reached down and granted him a most beautiful eternal life. Both holidays breathe life into the idea of rebirth and fresh starts. And last but not least, my next ever-so-quaint day to be recognized, Earth Day, is tomorrow. Yeah! Disney has a new movie, called African Cats, coming out tomorrow, where they documented the life and experiences of cats in the wild in Africa, but the best part is if you go to see the movie tomorrow, the proceeds from ticket sales (tomorrow ONLY) will be matched by Disney and donated towards wildlife preservation. Therefore, do Mother Earth a favor and go to the movies! I know I will.

In doing meditaion this morning, the main message that my guide gave me is that the sky’s the limit. No matter how difficult life may be in the present, you need to look within, find the smallest spark of light within yourself and use that spark to motivate baby steps to turning the situation around. I, like everyone, know how difficult it can be to find that little spark, when it feels like the storms of the world have done everything to put the spark out, but I’ve come to realize that the more trials and tribulations we face the more faith that God has in us, that we can persevere and create something greater for our lives than we ever imagined. It is only living in the depths of sadness and despair that we can fully embrace pure joy and blessings with the same intensity of emotion. Thus, mo matter where you are in your life at this moment, or even in this second, know that this is the time of the year for new beginnnings, and I grant you permission, at whatever level you can, to invest in a new start where blessings will exceed your wildest expectations. The best way to begin this investment process into a brighter future is to write down your goals, and think of baby steps that will bring you even the slightest bit closer to those goals, and I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, at the very least you have access to your computer that allows you to access these words of hope and love and belief that I have in you, for the best life has to offer as we enter this time of a fresh start. Love, light and blessings.
